What is Reiki?

Reiki is the Japanese word of two syllables.
Rei means the Universal Spirit or Essence and Ki is the Life Energy or Light. 

Therefore Reiki means Universal Spirit of Life or Life Force Energy. It is the energy of life that flows through all living things and sustains us.

Welcome to Nurture Nourish Renew, where you’ll find a holistic approach to health and wellness through the ancient practice of Reiki. My name is Kelly and I’m a certified Reiki practitioner based in Morley, Western Australia. With over 25 years of experience, I’ve seen the transformative power of Reiki firsthand and I’m passionate about sharing its benefits with others.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It’s based on the idea that we all have an unseen life force energy that flows through us and when it’s low, we’re more likely to get sick or feel stress. By using gentle touch or hovering hands, a Reiki practitioner can help to restore this energy flow and promote a sense of peace and well-being.

Reiki has a wide range of physical, emotional, and mental benefits. Some of the physical benefits include reduced pain, improved sleep, and a boost to the immune system. Emotionally, Reiki can help to release negative emotions, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote a sense of calm and relaxation. Mentally, Reiki can help to increase focus and clarity, enhance creativity, and promote a general sense of well-being.

At Nurture Nourish Renew, I offer both in-person Reiki sessions as well as distant healing sessions for those who can’t make it to my healing space. In-person sessions are done fully clothed while lying down on a massage table or sitting in a chair, and the Reiki practitioner uses a series of hand positions on or above the body to facilitate the flow of energy. Distant healing sessions can be done from anywhere in the world and are just as effective as in-person sessions.

If you’re new to Reiki, you might be wondering how often you should have a session. While some people choose to have Reiki on a regular basis as a form of preventative care, others may only come for a session when they’re feeling stressed or unwell. There’s no right or wrong frequency – it’s all about what feels right for you and your body.
